Thursday is Personal History

Today I want to talk about purses. For you men this would be equivalent to a pants or jacket pocket.

Your choice of handbag may vary by season, occasion, outfit or color of your shoes. Unless you're a complete neat freak, purses or pockets become repositories for forgotten receipts, scraps  of paper, spare change  and more

Today's  exercise: Empty your unused purses and examine the contents. Use these  cast-offs as inspiration for new work, new directions or simply new materials. Try this exercise with other vessels or places that accumulate ephemera, such  as suitcases, backpacks, glove compartments and junk drawers.

When I did this today I found receipts, some advertisements and some printed sheets. I also found a friendship book that was returned to me  after going to several cities in the USA  as well as the Netherlands and the Philippines

Think of these collections as forgotten fragments of your life that can be reassembled, reorganized, or reused as art, as inspiration for new projects or as craft materials. Alternatively, you can simply clean house, throw it all out, and start with a clean slate -- a process that can take your creative process in a completely different direction.
