Spunky Old Broads Day February 1st

The celebration of spunky old broads was created as a month-long holiday by Dr. Gayle Carson, and the first day of the celebration has also become Spunky Old Broads Day. Carson, a coach and advisor to CEOs and entrepreneurial managers around the world, who focuses on helping older women in particular, thought that the words spunky, old, and broad all had negative connotations, and decided to put them together to create something positive, coming up with Spunky Old Broads (SOBs). The day and month celebrate women 50 and older who don't want to get old quietly, and "who are interested in living a regret-free life." She chose February, as that is her birth month.

How to Observe Spunky Old Broads Day

If you are a woman over 50, spend the day living life to the fullest. Get out of your house and refuse to be quiet. Reinvigorate the spunkiness in your soul and do something you've never done before. If you aren't a woman or are a woman who is not over 50, you can celebrate by thinking of all the spunky old broads you know, and by celebrating them. You could also celebrate some spunky old broads in culture. One way to do so could be by watching episodes of The Golden Girls.

Gayle Carson has some specific ways that spunky old broads can celebrate or be celebrated. Schedule a phone conversation with Carson, become a member of the Spunky Old Broad Club, or check out her books and other products. Listen to one of her podcasts, book her for a live speaking event, or explore her free articles and videos.

As it happens February is Spunky old broads month as well as the month of love. As a spunky old broad in her second decade I have begun to embrace my inner self much more. These few years changing my outlook on life a lot and My view of myself.

I find myself fighting to keep myself moving forward on this path my tendency is to hide and run away from change so this is a new experience for me.

Certain people in my life have called me mean but all I'm doing is being frank and stating my personal thoughts. My whole life I've tried to not rock the boat but I think it is time I stepped forward and became true to myself

This year my word of the year is alive  and my motto, "Do unto other's as you would have them do unto you".

This is the future I want:

My Birthday Trip- Day 4

Today is Ferry Day! I am not talking a ferry like the one in Toronto, this ship was huge! I guess it would have to be to hold 18 wheeler's plus dozens of other cars. The Chi-Cheemaun runs between South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island and Tobermory on Bruce Peninsula. It moves passengers and their vehicles between the above two points a few times a day.    E got a business call when we were leaving the Ferry and he got pissy cause he's on vacation and still they called him. Anyway that meant that he left the ferry and the Port too quickly for me to speak about what we were supposed to do next or rather what I wanted to do first. After he calmed down a bit I asked him if we could go back and get tickets to take a ride on a glass bottom boat. We turned back and found the Blue Heron company that did the tours. We booked a tour instead of the explorer tour but that was because I was in pain after a fall during the morning. While we were waiting for the ferry we went for a walk to see...

My Birthday Trip- Day 3

We started early because we needed to get to the Preserve before dark as absolutely no white light is allowed and that includes car lights. We stopped at the Anishnabe Trading Store, where I met this fellow. From the outside it didn't look that big but inside it was huge.  As you can see behind him there is a lot of stuff. We also stopped at the Iroquois Cultural Centre. Being in there was deeply moving like being in a holy place. I didn't get any pictures because it felt wrong to do so. We stopped at Bridal Veil Falls. The climb down wasn't too bad but the walk back up was murder on my lungs. This was taken about half-way down I think. I had planned to sleep in one of these but I'm glad we changed our mind, the teepee doesn't have a floor. Instead we stayed in a bunkie.  Two rooms and no heat, also no running water or indoor toilet so we had to use a outhouse. That wouldn't have been so bad but the outhouses were set 25 yards or so from the bunkie. Not fun wh...

I do not lie, at least I avoid it as much as possible

I do not lie, at least I avoid it as much as possible. It is a point of pride for me to express myself with honesty. Remember what I said about the brain and how it tells us stories, false ones and true ones. The stories it tells are expressions of our inner thoughts and beliefs.  This morning I was awakened my loud voices in the hall so being who I am I went to investigate to find my son with a homeless man and to catch a glimpse of a female fleeing the scene. What I found before that was another pile of emptied garbage bags strewn between the k-wing exit and the basement exit in the hall between the wings. My words to the man were "I trust you guys not to make a mess when you get inside". Or words to that effect anyway, making it sound like I actually opened the door and let them into the building. That was my brain blaming me because I didn't check the door after K3 came in at midnight and I should have. While I didn't technically open the door and say come in I m...
